The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of Application Engineers and Industrial Engineers who act as the technical interface between customer requirements and internal production capabilities.
This function ensures that customer-specific product configurations are technically validated documented and optimized for efficient manufacturing. The role plays a central part in managing drawing work orders technical documentation and process readiness for both standard and customized product variants.

Team Management & Leadership:
- Lead and develop the team of Application Engineers and Industrial Engineers.
- Set clear objectives prioritize workload and foster collaboration within the team and across departments.
- Build engineering capabilities in the areas of customization standardization and process optimization.
Customer-Specific Engineering Support:
- Oversee the review and translation of customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure accurate and timely creation of technical specifications drawings and DWOs for customized orders.
- Act as escalation point for complex technical or feasibility challenges.
Drawing Work Orders & Technical Documentation:
- Ensure high-quality consistent and efficient management of DWOs BOMs and product configuration data.
- Drive standardization of engineering outputs and proper use of PLM/ERP systems (e.g. SAP SolidWorks).
- Maintain strong change control practices in line with internal procedures and customer expectations.
Industrialization & Manufacturing Readiness:
- Support the industrialization of new or customized products ensuring manufacturability process compatibility and minimal production disruption.
- Collaborate with production planning and quality to validate routings tools and production data.
- Promote DFM/DFA principles to improve cost-efficiency and reduce lead time.
Process Improvement & Standardization:
- Lead or support initiatives to streamline DWO creation engineering change handling and custom product setup.
- Improve response times and reduce engineering rework through lean principles and root cause analysis.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales Engineering R&D Production Planning and Quality teams to ensure seamless integration of customer-specific requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews feasibility studies and product launch readiness assessments.
An experience that matters: your skills
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years in a team leadership or management role.
- Solid experience with technical order processing application engineering or product customization.
- Strong working knowledge of engineering systems (CAD PLM SAP).
- Excellent leadership and people development skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production flows
- Experience in DWO or technical documentation workflows
- Structured detail-oriented and process-driven mindset
