ES West - Student and Family Services Representative
PURPOSE:
The LNC Student and Family Services Representative position is the first point of call for visitors to the school parents staff and children. As the face of the school the representative should be welcoming personable helpful and able to represent LNC in a professional and friendly addition it is essential that the person for this role is organized able to multitask work flexibly and have a can do approach to work as no two days are the same. Additionally the position will be required to accurately share information about school health procedures and collect appropriate documentation for student health conditions. The representative is also required to assist the office staff with various administrative tasks requiring a good level of IT skills.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK
Receptionist
- To act as the first point of contact for the school: welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a helpful and constructive manner and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.
- Answers phone calls in a pleasant informed manner for the purpose of providing information and creating a good image of the district
- Manages telephone message system (office hours inclement weather and other recorded messages)
- Responds to inquiries for the purpose of referrals and directions as may be required
- Maintains sorts and distributes mail and packages for school
- Performs other clerical tasks as assigned
- Ensuring that the reception area is kept organized (decluttered) and inviting/welcoming
- Ensures that student items are placed in the Lost and Found daily
- Ensure that digital sign postings are kept up-to-date.
- Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life receiving and forwarding information between parents and teachers
- Makes sure all teachers have taken attendance by 9 AM enter tardies and mark all absentees by 9:30 AM
- Maintains check-in and check-out procedures of students as outlined in the Student Handbook.
- Assist PTO with records for lunch distribution.
- Act as the primary point of contact for copier operations managing Riso supply orders submitting and tracking service tickets and maintaining paper inventory to ensure smooth daily operations
Health Room (When School Nurse is not on Site)
- Orders necessary health room materials resources and ensuring that stock levels are maintained
- Ensures that medications are appropriately stored and are in current
- Ensures that staff have appropriate supplies to render first aid to students both on-campus and for field trips.
- Answers questions for staff and families for basic medical questions
- Tends to the students who are sent to the office with injuries or illness and will make contact with parents when deemed necessary.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
Regular Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
PREFERRED EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree preferred and any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
