Qualifications:

• Education:Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN or health-related bachelors degree preferred.
• Licensure:
• Current RN license in Kentucky
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation with insurance for applicable business travel.
• Certification:Current CPR certification according to the American Heart Association standards.
• Experience:
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; hemodialysis or ICU/CCU experience highly desirable
• Successful completion of training in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.
• Technical Skills:Proficiency with hemodialysis equipment and procedures; computer skills advantageous.
• Soft Skills:Strong clinical judgment excellent communication skills compassionate patient care approach and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide chronic hemodialysis care and develop comprehensive nursing care plans including assessment planning implementation and evaluation.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to interpret and adjust patient care plans.
• Conduct patient referrals to dieticians social workers or vascular access centers as necessary.
• Evaluate patients lab results and address any concerns or questions regarding dialysis treatments.
• Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition.
• Adhere to the facilitys policies and procedures complying with state and federal regulations.
• Deliver age-specific care including performing all aspects of the hemodialysis procedure as per state licensure requirements.
• Perform technical skills related to patient treatment and emergency procedures as part of the competency assessment program.
• Document and report all pertinent patient information accurately and clearly.
• Participate in patient and family education promoting a safe environment for all.
