Chevron is looking for a dynamic senior tax professional to join the Global Indirect Tax team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated team member willing to take on new challenges and join one of the largest Oil and Gas tax teams in the United States.

As a Senior Indirect Tax Advisor you will be a valuable member on tax planning advisory and compliance projects supporting the various Chevron businesses. You will continue to grow your technical knowledge in state and local indirect taxation by working on complex projects have access to great resources and continue to develop your leadership skills. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with various state and local indirect tax advisory projects including sales & use and excise tax process reviews tax implications on major transactions audit and tax technology strategies
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflow
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • May be assigned to lead/support special projects including integration and digital initiatives
  • May oversee external engagements

An extensive understanding of U.S. indirect taxes is a necessity as are excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with peers and varied groups of stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience in state and local indirect tax (sales & use and excise tax)
  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or other related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax
  • Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
  • Demonstrated experience with state and local indirect tax planning tax research and tax analysis
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
