Position Summary

The Buyer plays a key role in sourcing acquiring and managing pre-owned vehicle inventory for SVG Motors. This individual will analyze market trends evaluate trade-ins and build strong relationships with wholesalers auctions and private sellers to ensure we maintain a profitable and competitive inventory mix.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and acquire quality pre-owned vehicles through auctions wholesalers trade-ins and private sellers.

• Evaluate vehicles for condition mileage and market value to make informed purchase decisions.

• Maintain proper inventory levels that align with dealership sales goals.

• Negotiate purchase prices to maximize profitability.

• Partner with Sales Managers and General Managers to understand dealership needs and align purchases with customer demand.

• Monitor market trends pricing guides and reconditioning costs to ensure vehicles meet profitability standards.

• Accurately complete all required paperwork titles and documentation for purchases.

• Develop and maintain strong vendor and auction relationships to secure favorable buying opportunities.

• Track and report on vehicle acquisition activities and results.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive buying appraising or inventory management experience is required.

• Strong knowledge of automotive market values wholesale trends and auction processes.

• Excellent negotiation communication and relationship-building skills.

• Highly organized detail-oriented and data-driven decision maker.

• Valid drivers license with clean driving record required.

• Ability to travel as needed to auctions and dealerships.
