Your Role

Vinnies are seeking a skilled & compassionate Registered Nurseto provide exceptional coordinated care to residents in our aged care facility (Frederic House) who are facing alcohol and drug dependence mental health challenges or homelessness.. If youre ready for animpactful role where no two days are the same this is the opportunity for you!

Your Responsibility

  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to assess and support residential clients in a warm inclusive environment.
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to clients with complex needs.
  • Provide clinical health care services with a focus on mental health substance dependence and homelessness.
  • Monitor client health progress maintain detailed records and ensure continuity of care.
  • Manage challenging behaviors and mental health conditions while promoting a positive safe environment.
  • Manage medications ensure care plans are in place and work directly with prescribing doctors chemists and healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with external health services for comprehensive client support and smooth transitions into community healthcare.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest in risk management safety and aged care standards

You Will Need

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive clinical knowledge especially related to age-related health issues.
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement.
  • Awareness of issues related to homelessness alcohol drug dependence and mental health.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective workload management and prioritization based on resident needs.
  • Professional relationships with residents families and representatives.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and respecting resident values and preferences.
  • Willingness to seek and apply new nursing knowledge.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using health information systems.
