Guild is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Academy product team. This product enables social cohorted learning within large enterprises for better learning and engagement outcomes. The Academy product has launched via an acquisition with a well-tested core experience that users and clients love from a decade plus of development. The small distributed team from across the US and Europe has joined Guild and we are making a significant investment to bring this product to the world.
We are looking to add a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer who has a passion for building enterprise SaaS products. You will leverage your full-stack development experience and understanding of the rigors of enterprise SaaS solutions to quickly bring new product capabilities to life and iterate on them to satisfy market demand and scale in response to growth. Although youre an expert in several front-end technologies (including React) we expect you to be comfortable building anywhere within the full stack of web systems. You will operate within a diverse team including engineers product managers designers operators customer support and sales to accelerate Guilds mission and expand Guilds market.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will:
- Build and maintain software solutions and services that ensure quality scalability and resiliency based on customer and business needs.
- Create production-ready rugged maintainable and well-tested code across various technologies including AWS TypeScript React Python PostgreSQL and GraphQL.
- Actively contribute to optimizing workflows and improving team velocity through technical enhancements.
- Proactively identify and raise blockers technical debt and concerns to enable faster resolution by leveraging broader team knowledge and expertise.
- Improve the stability performance and monitoring of services while participating in on-call and incident response processes.
- Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement encouraging team members to develop technical and problem-solving skills.
- Work closely with our product and design teams to develop solutions plan stories and provide accurate estimates while ensuring that features delivered meet requirements and are delivered on-time.
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
- Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration skills especially in a distributed working environment
- Build with simplicity reliability and scalability in mind.
- Know how and when to use AI to enhance your productivity.
- Expertise in several (or all!) of these tools and technologies: Typescript HTML CSS React REST and GraphQL. Familiarity with other languages API protocols and databases can also work for us!
- Expertise building and owning multiple services and user interfacesdata modeling unit and integration testing application monitoring and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
- Expertise with a cloud platform (AWS GCP Azure DigitalOcean) database technologies (Postgres MySQL NoSQL) and modern source control (Git / Github).
- Demonstrated curiosity and interest in keeping up and experimenting with new technologies.
- Willingness to embrace change and work within a fast-paced environment.

We are committed to equal pay for equal work and believe in compensation transparency. All salary ranges are standardized nationwide and will not vary by region. This role offers a competitive total compensation package including a base salary of $150-180000 and stock options. Compensation offered will be based on a combination of factors such as experience competencies and internal equity.
