Head of Industrial Sector Customers (37 hours per week Permanent)

Location: Home-based with travel to Wave offices in Salvus House Durham or Pearl House Peterborough and customer sites and venues nationally

Salary: From 68277 plus a discretionary bonus potential of up to 12% of annual salary

Job Level: B

Car Allowance: 418 per month

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Were looking for a strategic and commercially minded leader to join us as Head of Industrial Sector Customers. At Wave Utilities we are redefining what it means to be a market-leading water retailer. As Head of Industrial Customers you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our strategic vision for some of the UKs most water-intensive customer groups. Youll lead our industrial customer portfolio supporting some of the UKs most water-intensive businesses while driving innovation sustainability and customer excellence. Youll be at the forefront of trade effluent management environmental leadership and stakeholder engagement.

This role would suit someone who thrives in complex operational environments enjoys leading high-performing teams and is passionate about balancing commercial success with environmental responsibility. If youre confident influencing senior stakeholders and energised by driving change this could be your ideal next step.

WHAT WILL YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE

Your day will be varied impactful and full of opportunities to lead and innovate. Youll:

• Inspire and support your team through coaching collaboration and regular engagement.
• Develop and deliver strategic plans to grow and retain our industrial customer base.
• Lead on trade effluent strategy compliance and customer proposition development.
• Represent Wave at industry forums and regulatory discussions especially around decarbonisation and the hydrogen economy.
• Collaborate across departments to improve systems processes and customer experience.
• Drive customer satisfaction retention and commercial performance across the portfolio.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU

Were looking for someone who brings:

• A people-first leadership style and a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen with experience in complex customer environments.
• Excellent relationship-building skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and industry bodies.
• A relevant degree or equivalent experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• A positive mindset attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of trade effluent regulations and the ability to lead technical conversations is a strong advantage.
