Job Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) the Junior Financial Analyst isresponsible for analyzing the financial performance of the organization its programs its grantsits departments and other operating addition the Financial Analyst will maintain
all dashboard reporting and communication tools for the organization. The Junior FinancialAnalyst is responsible for assisting the SFA with the preparation of the organizations practices combined will assist the CFO in keeping the organization informed withactionable insights to provide an effective foundation for further dialogue.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists Senior Financial Analyst in:
    • Maintaining the financial analysis models of the organizations performance (pastpresent and future) and developing working financial models for use bymanagement
    • The generation of periodic financial statements including monthly quarterly andannual reporting as required
  • Analyze trends costs revenues financial commitments & other obligations incurred toenhance the organizations financial modeling
  • Analyze payroll calculations payroll liabilities payroll hours payroll accruals for all paytypes and liabilities create payroll journal entries for each payroll and create payrollaccrual entries
  • Analyze and prepare monthly quarterly and annual payroll analysis of all payroll taxesand reports for review by Controller and CFO
  • Prepare a standard set of financial and analytical reports at month-end and year-end
  • Prepare financial analysis including ratio analysis and other key indicators along withthe financial statement preparation
  • Development and preparation of timely and accurate account analysis in support of thefinancial statements including preparation of general journal entries and reconciliation ofgeneral ledger accounts
  • Maintain open lines of communication and makes recommendations for improvement asdeemed beneficial
  • Maintain account groupings statistics dashboards and reports in the organizationsaccounting system including researching and remediating anomalies or issues
  • Assist Senior Financial Analyst by maintaining the organizations annual operatingbudget grant budgets department budgets including all related schedules. Ensures thebudgeting software is complete accurate and maintained.
  • Work as a member of a team and develops working knowledge of other team memberroles and assists in communicating his/her own responsibilities to other team members
  • Perform quarterly internal audits of various programs on behalf of management
  • Support the organizations Controller with technical accounting projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to:
    • Make mathematical computations quickly and accurately; operate standard officeequipment which may include computers calculators adding machinesscanners and duplicating machines; read understand and follow written and oralinstructions; use computerized accounting systems
    • Prepare data in proper format for data entry; understand and maintain financialaccounting files or other record systems; recognize and correct computationalerrors; accurately compare post and transfer numbers; understand transactionsin terms of accounting codes and classifications; prepare routine and specialfinancial reports
  • Communicate effectively by phone or in person; learn accounting systems; establish andmaintain effective working relationships with others

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance plus two equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Outlook Suite with intermediate excel experiencepreferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 24 pounds
  • Operates in an office setting at times and requires frequent times of sitting standingrepetitive motion and talking
  • Access to patient protected health information may be required
