Position Highlights

Schedule - Varied 8 hour shifts. Start as early as 7am and end as late as 6pm. Rotate every 4th Saturday.

• Assists PA or Pathologist with grossing specimen. Make proper determination of process technique and pre-processing times and solutions.
• Accessions specimens into to the system. Label specimen correctly fill out grossing sheet with correct information and label cassettes correctly.
• Identifies and resolves routine specimen acceptability and test order problems. Refers incomplete patient information or non-routine identified problems to appropriate individuals for problem resolution.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to: specimen filing sending reference lab specimens and disposal of tissue
• Assists the technical and support staff with other duties as needed.
• Assists with receiving and distribution of supplies associated with the processing area.
• Assists with analysis collection and maintenance of records as required by regulatory agencies and/or federal state of local law.
• Performs housekeeping duties to ensure work area is clean and orderly.

• High School or GED Equivalent
• Less than 1 year

• Comply with safety principles laws regulations and standards associated with but not limited to CMS The Joint Commission DHHS and OSHA if applicable.
