The Director Risk Compliance and Quality Assurance willhave a global mindset and work closely with the Board to ensure the Institutes risk framework is fit for purpose. Our successful candidate will oversee the Research Quality Assurance and Internal Audit functions ensuring improvements to better integrate risk compliance and research quality assurance across our global footprint.

Implement the organisations risk management framework and methodology.
Maintain and implement risk policies and procedures (Risk Management Framework Risk Appetite Statement Incident & Issue Management).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify prioritise and manage risks including development and execution of risk mitigation action plans.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Implement and maintain the organisations risk management framework policies and procedures
Manage the Institutes Risk Registers and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
Collaborate across teams to identify and mitigate risks and conduct risk assessments and controls assurance to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Promote a culture of compliance and ethical leadership through training and engagement.
Develop and maintain a compliance framework aligned with global standards and regulations.
Manage the compliance obligations register and ensure policies reflect current requirements.
Support external audits and ensure timely resolution of any compliance issues.
Lead the Research Quality Assurance team and implement governance structures for research projects.
Oversee internal audits including training tool development and follow-up support.
Monitor emerging risks and ensure compliance with standards.
Prepare reports for executive leadership and maintain open communication across teams.
Serve as the key risk contact for regulators auditors and internal stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with external consultants to support risk and compliance strategies.
Comply with WHS legislation and promote a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Skills Knowledge and Experience/ Our Successful Candidate:-
Deep understanding of risk management systems regulatory frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
Over 10 years in risk management compliance or corporate governance preferably in healthcare research or non-profit sectors.
Skilled in implementing risk and compliance programs managing audits and ensuring research quality in fast-paced environments.
Ability to identify assess and mitigate emerging and inherent risks.
Familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines and global/local research regulations (e.g. GDPR HIPAA) is highly valued.
Strong facilitation and communication abilities for training and stakeholder engagement.
Capable of translating complex compliance requirements into practical actions.
Highly organised self-starter with experience managing teams and leading projects.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and juggle competing priorities.
Professional certifications (e.g. CRMA CCEP CAMS) in risk management or a Bachelors degree in Business Finance Risk Management Legal Studies or related field are desirable.
