Role Definition


As a Gas Turbine O&G and Power Generation Lead Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the design development analysis and optimization of gas turbine systems for oil & gas and power generation applications. You will ensure compliance with API 520 industry standards focusing on overpressure protection reliability and operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.

This Role requires deep expertise in Turbomachinery and their systems Engineering process safety and compliance with international codes and standards the expert will ensure high-performance cost-effective design while driving innovation continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

You will also provide dedicated engineering support for compressible systems (Fuel Gas Air Hydrogen Nitrogen CO₂) for various platform projects independently executing component design work and driving technical competency within the team.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering efforts for gas turbine systems in oil & gas and power generation projects.

  • Ensure compliance with API 520 industry recommendations and overpressure protection calculations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in API 520 industry guidelines and conduct overpressure protection calculations utilizing proficiency in iPrism software.
  • Perform system design analysis and optimization for reliability efficiency and safety.
  • Carry out sizing selection and specification of pressure relief devices including relief valves rupture disks and vent and flare systems.
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of overpressure scenarios and determine the design basis for the relief system.
  • Develop and validate engineering solutions for pressure relief venting and safety systems.
  • Provide expertise in seal systems design selection and troubleshooting for turbomachinery packages.
  • Conduct flow simulations and analysis for compressible systems (Fuel Gas Air Hydrogen Nitrogen CO₂).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on spec review implementation and gap analysis for API 520 compliance.
  • Support field operations and maintenance teams with technical expertise and troubleshooting.
  • Document engineering designs calculations and compliance reports.
  • Drive technical excellence within the engineering team supporting new technology domains and future NPI programs.
  • Promote product feature-level partnership and collaboration across global teams.
  • Field experience in operations & maintenance of gas turbine oil & gas and power generation packages.


Degree Requirement
Masters degree in mechanical Aerospace or related Engineering discipline with 15 years of experience.

Skill Descriptors

Proven expertise in API 520 API 521 industry standards and overpressure protection calculations.

Expertise with API520 API521 ASME BPVC Section VIII API 692 and related standards.

Participate in safety studies such as HAZOP and LOPA ensuring proper relief system integration.

8 years of experience in gas turbine systems engineering for oil & gas and/or power generation.

Deep domain expertise in compressible systems design (Fuel Gas Air Hydrogen Nitrogen CO₂).

Strong background in seal systems for turbomachinery.

Expertise with flow simulations and analysis for compressible systems.

Experience with system design reliability analysis and safety compliance.

Familiarity with pressure relief valve sizing vent studies and safety-driven engineering.

Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes approaches tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Level Extensive Experience:
Develops improvement plans for senior management and evaluates the outcome of the design against the functionality.
Advises others on the development of multiple products and their functionality.
Trains others on advanced tools and approaches of product design.
Monitors the processes and procedures of a complex product design to ensure functional requirements are met.
Evaluates feedback from customers and consults on functional weaknesses.
Controls design and development costs of a proposed product through effective resource coordination.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design build and develop a new product technology or service from concept through to production.
