Position: Welder/Mechanic

Job Summary
The Welder/Mechanic performs pipe welding and fitting for stainless and carbon steel pipes. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing process piping and equipment as well as performing preventive maintenance on facility equipment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Perform welding for stainless and carbon steel pipes under the direction and supervision of others.
- Read and interpret work orders flow sheets blueprint drawings vendor specifications and/or P&IDs to identify issues and determine required repairs.
- Proficient in TIG MIG and stick welding.
- Perform welding brazing and soldering for repair replacement and installation of stainless and carbon steel plate and pipe aluminum copper and other metals.
- Use hand power and shop tools proficiently.
- Assemble and install process equipment.
- Diagnose troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Conduct pipe fitting rigging and equipment installation.
- Assist with process equipment assembly and installation.
- Perform lubrication on equipment as needed and directed.
- Complete data entry into the work order system as required.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education & Certification Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Post-secondary certificate in Welding Mechanic & Repair Technologies strongly preferred.
- Successful completion of skills assessment (math reading comprehension and gauge reading).
- 3 5 years of welding experience preferably in an industrial environment.
- TIG root welding experience a plus.
