Job Description
Location: Newcastle
Setting: Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) provision
Start date: ASAP
Contract Type:Full-time Rolling contract (potential for temp to perm)
Hours:Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a thriving Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) setting in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a secondary student with SEMH needs
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans
- Support the students academic social and emotional development
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs
- Patience empathy and excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance) preferred
