Position Summary
A premier Newport Beach law firm is seeking a talented Business Litigation Associate with a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have strong research writing and courtroom skills and the ability to handle complex commercial disputes with minimal supervision. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys on high-stakes matters while developing long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in a broad range of business and commercial disputes in state and federal courts.
Draft and argue motions pleadings and discovery-related documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex business and commercial law issues.
Manage discovery including depositions e-discovery interrogatories and document review.
Participate in hearings mediations arbitrations and trials.
Advise clients on case strategies risks and potential outcomes.
Collaborate with partners associates and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
Contribute to settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution efforts.
Stay current with developments in California civil procedure business torts and commercial litigation trends.
Support firm growth by assisting with client development and contributing to thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the California State Bar (in good standing)
Minimum 3 years of business litigation experience in a law firm setting.
Strong writing analytical and oral advocacy skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple matters with competing deadlines.
Experience in depositions hearings and client communications preferred.
A collaborative team player with a commitment to client service.
