What your future may hold

You will work at the Brussels office which is part of Eversheds Sutherlands wider Benelux offering including teams in Luxembourg and the Netherlands. As a fast-growing and ambitious practice the Benelux team advises clients on both domestic and international matters working closely with colleagues across the global Eversheds Sutherland network. The team is active in a range of key practice areas including M&A Banking & Finance Tax Litigation Real Estate & Planning Employment & Pensions and Data Privacy & Technology. Together they serve clients across sectors such as Industrials TMT Energy Financial Services Consumer and Life Sciences.

As Senior Associate Corporate M&A you will:

• Be involved in a wide range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions corporate finance private equity and corporate reorganisations and restructurings often spanning multiple jurisdictions;
• Engage with top-tier multinational clients and build long-term client relationships by offering strategic and commercial legal advice;
• Work closely with your four colleagues: two associates Benjamin and partner Kristof Slootmans whorecently joined the team. Kristof focuses on private and public M&A joint ventures and reorganisations and is known for his pragmatic deal-driven approach;
• Regularly collaborate with lawyers across Eversheds Sutherlands international network.

Your skillset

• Belgian qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Corporate M&A ideally gained at a leading international or well-regarded local law firm.
• Strong drafting skills and proven ability to manage corporate transactions with limited supervision.
• Commercially minded and client-focused with a strong sense of business acumen.
• Pragmatic and solution-oriented with sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both internally and externally.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset the eagerness to contribute to a newly restructured ambitious team and ideally the ability to mentor junior colleagues.
• Thrives in a dynamic international environment.
• Fluent in French and English; proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
