About the Role:
Everest Insurance a member of the Everest Re Group Ltd. is looking foryouto join our Retail Property team as aSenior Underwriter. In this hybrid role youll workthree days in-office and two remotely reporting to the Central Regional Executive of Retail Property.
What Youll Do
In this role you will:
Help develop a profitable book of business within the Central territory.
Assist in implementing a regional growth plan and build brand awareness for Everest.
Set goals and objectives for both the team and the region.
Build and underwrite a diverse and profitable portfolio of retail property accounts.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with appointed brokers.
Establish and manage pricing and risk selection standards that align with strategic and financial goals.
Collaborate with Actuarial Claims Loss Control Operations Finance and IT teams.
Mentor and coach underwriters both technically and professionally.
Stay informed about competitor strategies and market trends.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role you should have:
A bachelors degree in business or a related field (insurance designations are a plus).
3 to 7 years of commercial property underwriting experience with proven ability to support leadership strategies for portfolio profitability.
A self-motivated and independent mindset with strong underwriting discipline.
Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
Strong relationship-building and coaching abilities.
The ability to assess risk exposures and natural hazards.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret risk and portfolio data.
Excellent sales and negotiation skills.

The base salary range for this position is $134000 - $161000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education experience qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage an employee wellness program life and disability insurance 401k match retirement savings plan paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
