We are seeking Berber (Tamazight) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Tamazight part of the Berber language family spoken across Morocco Algeria Libya and North Africa is a rare but critical language frequently needed for asylum and immigration proceedings.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Berber (Tamazight) English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and asylum cases.
Interpret with accuracy impartiality and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.
Maintain confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance audits.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Berber (Tamazight) and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration asylum community NGO or government strongly preferred).
Knowledge of North African cultural contexts.
Familiarity with interpreter ethics confidentiality and impartiality standards.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
