Job Summary

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the educational needs of approximately 17950 students in 43 schools. EIPS is recruiting a temporary part-time French Immersion Kindergarten Teacher at Heritage Hills Elementary.

Heritage Hills Elementaryserves approximately 490 students in kindergarten the Grade 6 with 25 teaching staff and nine support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.

Heritage Hills Elementary is a dual-track school offering programming in English and French Immersion. The school strives to help every child be a successful self-motivated learner in a safe and caring school environment. The goal is to empower students to be lifelong learners in a changing world.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English
  • Effective organization and classroom management skills
  • Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
