Community Support Worker Community Mental Health Cairns

  • Employment Term: Permanent Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight)

  • Location: Cairns

  • Remuneration: $44.58 p/hr Super NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team

Provide support to the practitioners and families who access the Family Support and the Community Support Service.

Your key duties will involve but not limited to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for families referred to the Family Support Program (including Child and Adolescent Counselling)

  • Processing enquiries and referrals into the program from a variety of sources and in consultation with the Local Service Manager and team members undertake assessments processes to determine eligibility.

  • Assist families to access support services including practical and crisis support where necessary.

  • In consultation with the Local Service Manager and team members:

  • Develop and initiate activities delivered from a community hub that promote personal and social development and a sense of belonging and wellbeing in the community.

  • Develop and initiate activities to improve the quality efficiency and networking of community services.
