Job Description:
This position is responsible for planning organizing and managing the operations of the inpatient social services department and assists the Director of Behavior Health Services with daily oversight of the inpatient social services team and activity/expressive team. The Manager is responsible for supervising the daily program operations processing all patients who are admitted to the programs ensuring that quality patient care is provided in a safe effective manner according to established policies and procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring that standards of patient care are established and maintained in the respective areas. This includes managerial oversight of staffing and ensures compliance with state federal and other regulatory requirements to include The Joint Commission and Center for Medicaid/Medicare standards. This role may provide services to various patient populations including pediatrics adolescents and adults. This role is also responsible for ensuring complete and accurate documentations of all services and providing daily supervision of all clinical staff
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates leadership in responding to hospital and community mental health needs; Adjusts processes to respond to organizational and patient needs.
- Acts as a resource and consults with program staff regarding patient care problems to assist in the resolution of challenging situations as they arise
- Acts as a patient advocate to ensure that each individuals rights are maintained at all times by the program staff according to established policies & procedures
- Facilitates collaboration among various clinical and non-clinical disciplines provides leadership and develops and manages implementation of program specific standards to ensure quality and safe delivery of care
- Assists with hiring by interviewing applicants following personnel policies and procedures; recommends the best suited candidate for selection to the Director of Behavioral Health Services
- Provides department employee orientation and training including telephone skills computer skills and appropriate documentation of services
- Assists clinicians in the admission and discharge process including providing case management and facilitating treatment planning sessions
- Consults with treatment team staff regarding patient care problems to resolve challenging situations as they arise and to enhance staff decision-making and performance
- Schedules staff effectively taking into account ADC and staffing patterns along with coordinating PTO requests and provides coverage for clinical staff as needed; analyzes coordinates and adjusts staffing to ensure effective utilization of labor in the department without sacrificing the quality of services provided
- Conducts routine documentation audits productivity reports and communicates with referral source family payer source & physicians
- Demonstrates fiscal prudence and an understanding of budgetary considerations when making business decisions; effectively monitors and adequately justifies budget variances

- Oversees clinical team participation in unit-based weekly safety huddle and participates in hospital wide safety initiatives
- Plans coordinates and executes monthly staff meetings treatment planning committee and clinical communication meeting
- Participates in management meetings and offers information when relevant
- Maintains compliance with all company policies procedures and standards of conduct
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Job Description:

- Masters degree (required)
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience (required)
- Five (5) years of leadership experience (preferred)
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a leadership mental health role (preferred)
Licensure:
- Valid licensure as a Masters- level independent therapist/social worker (LCSW LPCC LMFT) (required)
Certification:
- Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Instutute (CPI) training perform CPI techniques (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
