Position Summary
Villanova University College of Nursing has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct (part-time) faculty to provide instruction in the classroom or clinical area in a variety of graduate level courses. Duties And Responsibilities
Understand the course objectives for the course which adjunct faculty is assigned and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the College of Nursing. Provide supervision of students in the classroom (in-person or online) or clinical setting. If a clinical course visit students in their precepted clinical sites at least two times a semester. Provide supervision of students in weekly case presentations groups. Prepare student to develop competent clinical decision-making capability by facilitating sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking techniques. Foster communication skills with preceptors and course faculty. Validate students understanding of theoretical scientific and evidence based practice. Evaluate students clinical practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives by completing a formal Clinical Evaluation. Guide students in their growth within the nursing profession. Validate students understanding of theoretical scientific and evidence-based concepts to meet course objectives. Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of course and clinical objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
MSN required. Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a CRNP in the state of Pennsylvania (to teach in NP theory or clinical courses). . Certified as a nurse practitioner in one of the following specialties: AGNP FNP PNP PMHNP (to teach in NP theory or clinical courses). Current experience as an CRNP (to teach in NP theory or clinical courses).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in academic or clinical teaching and willingness to be flexible in fulfilling responsibilities. Doctoral degree
