Software Quality Assurance Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for facilitating the use of systematic tests and assisting in the subsequent development application and maintenance of quality standards for firm products. The Incumbent is responsible for contributing to the development modification and execution of software test plans as well as creating automated scripts and programs for testing. They will also aid in the analysis and writing of test standards and procedures help maintain documentation of test results and provide support to the development engineers to address issues and debug software products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. The Incumbent must work with cross-functional teams to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate and detailed records and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and priorities.

• In addition the QA Engineer will actively participate in scrum ceremonies from the inception of the project providing valuable feedback on requirements test environments and test data. This individual will serve as a strong user advocate bringing a curious mindset and thriving in an agile environment. He/She will be a collaborative partner in delivering reliable and high-quality capabilities that support our store associates across the US and Canada.

WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO:

• Assist in debugging software products by maintaining and optimizing systematic tests used to develop and maintain quality standards for firm products

• Ensure that software test plans automated scripts and programs for testing are efficient and effective and report to senior engineers with suggestions for improvement
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities for test strategies standards and procedures. Collaborate with other team members to ensure alignment with leading practices
• Manage the documentation of test results ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date and make it accessible to relevant stakeholders
• Help to identify and implement improvement opportunities to automate integration test and deployment of solution quality
• Support continuous monitoring to proactively identify quality issues
• Monitor and analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and assist the team in drafting corrective action
• Provide support to development engineers in resolving incidents and problems
• Support other team members in preparing technical appraisals of programming languages systems and computation software and provide feedback for the improvement of these appraisals

Education

• Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in lieu of a degree at least 4 years of experience in quality assurance engineering or software testing

• Preferred

  • Quality Assurance certifications

Skills and Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in quality assurance engineering or software testing
• Moderate understanding of software testing standards policies methodologies tools and processes

Preferred

• Proficient inAgile MethodologyDevOps Behavior Driven Development (BDD) andTest-Driven Development (TDD).
• Extensive hands-on experience withJiraZephyr ScaleConfluenceGitHubSQLOracle andWeb Services & APIs.
• Skilled inrisk-based testingandmetrics-driven quality assuranceapproaches.
• Hands-on performance testing UIs and APIs with tools like Apache JMeter
• 2 years of experience with Java
