Under the general direction of the Senior Advisor of Diversity and Inclusion work with community and industry to develop and implement an equity plan for the Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project (HIEP). This includes supporting plan implementation monitoring progress and designing future iterations. The Diversity and Inclusion Lead will work to support the Senior Advisor of Diversity and Inclusion in the development and implementation of corporate wide Equity Diversity and Accessibility addition this role will work with the Senior Advisor of Diversity and Inclusion to implement lessons learned from the Cape Breton Diversity Program and to support the Cape Breton Diversity Program with lessons from the HIEP. This is a three (3) year term position.
1. Work with industry and underrepresented communities through an Equity Plan for HIEP to ensure workforce recruitment retention (respectful workplace) and advancement targets are met.
2. Ensure the understanding of equity components of Build Nova Scotias HIEP project and monitor core equity activities measure and report on successes outcomes and make adjustments as needed.
3. Oversee supplier diversity using an equity lens to ensure diverse suppliers local contractors small businesses and social enterprises provide products and services to the successful proponents.
4. Works quickly efficiently and professionally-often under tight timelines-to ensure information provided to the project management team and government partners is timely accurate and complete.
5. Support the Senior Advisor of Diversity and Inclusion on corporate wide EDIA initiatives.
6. Participates in start-up meetings and orientation sessions. Ensure the initial orientation provides respectful workplace culture expectations (i.e. specific behaviours language).
7. Support on-site education sessions and cultural events.
8. Works directly with established organizations industry and government representatives and based on the identified strengths and needs of each create pathways for individuals from underrepresented groups to work in project workplaces.
9. Participates in working groups committees and meetings to coordinate strategic communications and/or issues management where information must be delivered to a variety of audiences (internal and external). Actively participates in decision-making by offering expertise and guidance.
10. Work with the project communications team to produce implement and evaluate social media digital content and strategies that build external awareness and understanding of project priorities.
