You will manage projects from start to finish designing various structure types generating estimates and maintaining schedules while coordinating with other County divisions.

How to be successful in the role:Your success will come from timely project management and project completion. You will be expected to utilize software such as Word Excel Microsoft Project Bluebeam GIS and structural analysis software. Highly effective communication with other Planning and Public Works teams municipalities and team members is necessary to build your success. The projects you manage ensure critical transportation infrastructure is functional and available for Pierce County residents.A classification description with a more detailed list of essential functions can be foundhere.
Registration as an Engineer-in-Training and seven years of progressively responsible experience related to the position is required.
A bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program in civil engineering or a closely related field may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis up to four years.
A valid drivers license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Professional Engineers license.
Bridge inspection Team Lead certification.
Geotech Engineering experience involving reviewing and interpreting geotechnical reports integrating subsurface conditions into design documents cost estimates and construction schedules and investigating and resolving geotechnical issues encountered during construction such as unsuitable soils or groundwater intrusion.
