Job Description
Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting
Institution and Role
The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel The Military College of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Accounting at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2026.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting.
- Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status through ongoing high-quality peer-reviewed publications and other scholarly activities in accordance with Baker School of Business criteria.
- Advise and mentor accounting majors supporting their academic professional and ethical development.
- Actively promote the accounting program both within the institution and externally through professional engagement.
- Participate in normal service activities including departmental and school-level committee work.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- An earned doctorate in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution (ABD candidates will be considered if the dissertation defense is expected before employment begins).
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching scholarship and service.
Preferred:
- Active professional licensure (e.g. CPA CMA).
- Professional experience in accounting or a related field.
- A record of or potential for publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals.

The Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business is an AACSB International-accredited institution located on The Citadels campus in beautiful Charleston on the coast of South Carolina.
