Join us in Victoria as a Community Based Substance Misuse Nurse be part of a great service with a diverse range of Specialists all working together to improve the health and wellbeing of people using drugs or alcohol.

As a Community Based Substance Misuse Nurse working with Change Grow Live in Westminster you will coordinate and oversee client care for time-limited clinical interventions supporting safe alcohol reduction and detoxification using validated tools and CGL care plans. They will lead engagement with GP practices arranging outreach clinics training and referral pathways while also providing professional liaison with mental health and dual diagnosis addition the role includes mentoring and supporting student and newly qualified nurses as well as offering service cover across hospital and community settings when required.

Where: Westminster

Hours: Part time 22.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary:37184.90 - 43384.61 (based on full time hours pro rata for part time)

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

We offer one to ones and appraisals monthly clinical supervision reflective practice monthly CPD time national forums to support development structured diaries to support work life balance and a weekly wellbeing hour to make sure you can do something that benefits your health or wellbeing. We support revalidation and pay for your annual NMC fee and provide access toexcellent training programmes including the RCNi learning platform. Our pay scales are aligned to agenda for change with an annual increment on the anniversary of your start date plus an annual cost of living review.

Please note this role is on site daily delivering clinical interventions and WFH is not possible.

The role has recently developed and includes all of our new clinical offer to patients:

  • Alcohol assessment developing treatment plans and supporting community detoxification.
  • Fibroscanning
  • Delivering Buvidal clinics (long acting Buprenorphine injections)
  • BBV testing Vaccinations and support to access Hep C treatment
  • Wound Care clinics
  • Phlebotomy

This is a great opportunity to further develop clinical skills within a large and supportive clinical team.

About you:

  • First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experience and a current PIN
  • Relevant recent experience of working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential)
  • Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions
  • Ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate written
    reports as necessary.
  • Clinical auditing skills to inform evaluation of the service and identify areas for development.
  • Employ a professional empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards
    service users and all stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users peers and other relevant professionals
