Our apprentices work directly alongside experienced mentor mechanics and service technicians across Delaware Maryland Virginia North Carolina South Carolina and Floridagaining hands-on training and real-world knowledge from professionals who practice the trade every day.

About the Program

Our program combines a curriculum ofhands-on on-the-job training with a web-based Learning Management System (LMS)and study materials to provide a comprehensive pathway to success. Youll work one on one with licensed elevator mechanics and technicians gaining the knowledge skills and experience needed to become a certified professional in the field.

Essential Functions

As anElevator Apprentice you will:

• Assist a licensed elevator mechanic ininstallation modernization service or maintenanceof elevators escalators and moving walkways.
• Learn toassemble install repair and maintainelectric and hydraulic freight or passenger elevators and related equipment.
• Maintain and submitweekly on-the-job training sheets signed and approved by your supervising mechanic.
• Stay actively engaged in related instruction following the programs schedule and guidelines.
• Adhere to allsafety guidelines policies and proceduresas directed by your supervisor and Delaware Elevator professionals.

Qualifications

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Skills: Mechanically inclined with experience using basic and power tools.
• Physical Requirements: Fit-for-duty comfortable with heights and able to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Travel: Ability to travel out of town as needed with some overnight stays. A valid drivers license and a clean driving record are required.
• Must successfully passdrug screenings background checks and skill assessments. Security clearance for certain jobsites may also be required.
