Adapt training sessions to meet the unique operational needs and drone programs of each public safety agency.
Provide practical scenario-based examples to help attendees apply the software to real-world emergency response situations.
Assist with the setup configuration and troubleshooting of the DroneSense application as part of training sessions.
Maintain professional responsive communication with agency contacts internal coordinators and training participants.
Travel as needed to host agency locations for in-person instruction (typically 13 days per assignment).
Complete post-training reports feedback forms and provide recommendations for follow-up or advanced training.
Remain up-to-date on DroneSense features updates and training best practices.
Role Scope
Instruction Delivery: Conduct virtual classes via Zoom Google Meet or similar platforms. Conduct in-person classes at host agency locations including classroom and field demonstrations.
Preparation & Customization: Review agency objectives in advance to tailor the training session. Customize instructional content based on agency drone program maturity and mission type.
Travel: Travel to training sites is required for in-person instruction (travel costs such as lodging and mileage will be reimbursed as applicable per the agreement).
Reporting: Submit training attendance records evaluations and feedback summaries after each session.
Required Qualifications
DroneSense Certified Instructor or have the ability to become certified within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrated experience in delivering professional instruction (virtual and in-person).
Strong working knowledge of the DroneSense software platform (Ops Pilot AirBase etc.).
Background in public safety (law enforcement fire EMS or emergency management).
Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Reliable internet connection and virtual training setup for remote sessions.
Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor.
Preferred Qualifications
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Experience managing or supporting a public safety UAS (drone) program.
Instructional design or adult learning certification.
