Job Summary

Position/Specialty: Registered Nurse / MICU Years of Experience Req: 1.5 year(s) Weekend Requirement: Every Other RTO Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included with the submission. Required Certifications: ACLS / BLS / NIHSS Ratios: 1:2 Patient Population & Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patients; average daily census of 5; unit includes 8 beds. Common diagnoses include sepsis acute kidney injury (AKI) stroke acute respiratory distress/failure COPD diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) post-cardiac arrest and electrolyte imbalances. Bronchoscopy is performed as a special procedure. Summary of Required Skills: Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation. Skilled in IV therapy arterial line and central line care. Experienced in managing multi-system organ failure and administering critical medications. Capable of respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management ventilator care ABG interpretation and suctioning (ETT/NT). Knowledgeable in professional protocols such as isolation precautions and PPE use. Floating: While Prisma Health prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed. Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies.
