Job Title: Welder I (MIG)

- Pay: $23.00 $29.00 per hour DOE
- Department: Manufacturing / Welding
- Reports To: Weld Lead / Supervisor
- Schedule: Monday Friday OT and Some Weekends as needed
Position Summary:
Entry-level MIG (GMAW) welder supporting production welds on fixtures and jigs under the guidance of senior welders. Follows standard work instructions performs basic grinding/finishing and maintains safety and quality in a structured training environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform basic MIG welds on prepped parts and jigs per work instructions and visual standards.

Read simple drawings and weld symbols; verify sizes/lengths using fillet gauges where applicable.

Fit and tack components; prep joints (clean grind bevel) prior to final welds.

Grind and finish welds; remove sharp edges and spatter; complete light touch-up as required.

Inspect own work; identify defects and notify the lead for rework as needed.

Maintain a clean safe organized weld station; follow all safety rules and 5S.

Complete basic production/quality documentation as directed.
Qualifications:

0 3 years welding experience (entry-level acceptable); vocational/trade welding coursework preferred.

Basic proficiency in MIG (GMAW); ability to pass an internal weld test.

Able to read simple prints and weld symbols; follow written instructions and SOPs.

Reliable attendance teamwork and strong safety habits.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Frequent standing/walking; bending kneeling squatting; repetitive hand/arm motions.

Lift/carry/push/pull up to 40 lbs (heavier with assistance).

Work around heat welding fumes/particulates sparks and moderate to high noise; use required PPE.
