Location: New Jersey
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Terraform AWS services GitHub/GitHub Actions and Python. The role involves working on cloud infrastructure automation modularization of existing pipelines and integration of Forge templates while also ensuring adherence to Mercks SDLC processes. The ideal candidate is self-driven detail-oriented and able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Key Responsibilities:-
- Enforce resource tagging through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at the platform level.
- Debug optimize and modularize AWS Lambda functions used in automation pipelines.
- Integrate Forge templates into the automation pipeline for standardized deployments.
- Define and document the ticketing process in ServiceNow and support setup activities.
- Refactor existing Terraform code to be more modular by:
- Removing hard-coded values
- Redefining the onboarding process with additional project information
- Ensuring reusability across projects
Required Skills & Qualifications (Hard Requirements):-
- Proficiency in Terraform (modular design best practices).
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS IAM AWS Lambda and AWS cloud automation.
- Proficiency in GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in Python.
- Exposure to EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and AWS Fargate for scalable infrastructure.
Preferred Skills (Soft Requirements):-
- Familiarity with Merck SDLC documentation standards.
- Experience with Forge and its integration into pipelines.
- Ability to work independently proactively identify issues and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong collaboration skills to coordinate tasks among distributed team members.
