Knox Private Hospital is one of the largest private hospitals in Victoria caring for over 1.2 million people across Melbournes east and outer east.
We have a 24/7 Emergency Department covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas including highly complex surgeries. Backed by the latest technology and expertise we offer 15 theatres including a hybrid theatre diagnostic cardiology two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery orthopaedics neurosurgery urology and more.
All supported by the expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit. Our expert care team of surgeons specialist doctors dedicated nurses and other professionals will ensure that your experience is the best it can be.
As a Cardiac Sonographer your responsibilities will include:
To perform transthoracic echocardiography
To perform stress echocardiography (exercise & pharmacological)
To assist with transoesophageal echocardiography
To perform the fitting removal & analysis of Holter monitors as required
To perform the technical aspects of exercise stress testing
To teach & mentor technologists in training
Be prepared to take part in the on call roster
To assist with the wider day to day running of the unit as directed by the unit manager/acting unit manager. i.e. taking patient bookings ordering of supplies and liaising with ward staff and LMOs
Selection Criteria:
Be eligible for or registered as a Sonographer (Cardiac) with ASAR
Bachelor of Science (or equivalent)
Mayfield Certificate IV in Cardiac Technology (or equivalent)
Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac) (or equivalent)
Be classified under the UG 1 classification structure
Have at least 7 years postgraduate experience
Have administrative and/or managerial responsibilities as designated by the employer
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal verbal written and electronic communication skills
Ability to perform tasks as directed with special focus on customer needs
Consultative organizational & leadership skills
Teaching coaching & mentoring skills
Have and be able to demonstrate extensive specialised knowledge and skills in one or more of the specific branches of the discipline.
