The Communications and Marketing Manager plays a key role in advancing the University of South Floridas strategic priorities and elevating the universitys national reputation. Based at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus this in-person role is part of the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) team and works closely with peers across the Tampa St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee campuses to ensure alignment and consistency across the USF brand and support USFs position as a top research institution.
This position blends compelling storytelling media relations digital content creation and strategic communication. The ideal candidate brings the mindset and technical abilities of a multimedia journalist who is able to take a story from concept to final product by writing compelling content and capturing supporting photos video and other media to bring the story to life across multiple platforms and enhance the universitys visibility.

Bachelors degree in communications marketing public relations journalism technical writing digital media or a related field with a minimum five (5) years of professional experience in communications journalism marketing or related roles or Masters degree in the fields listed above and three (3) yearsof experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong writing skills and demonstrated ability to create news content press releases digital media and marketing copy.
Proficiency with AP Style and a strong understanding of journalistic standards.
Experience using Microsoft Office content management systems (CMS) media monitoring tools and social media platforms.
Ability to travel to other USF campuses and/or other locations as requested
Skills and Competencies
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelors degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for masters degree.
