Our initial crewed space habitat will be Haven-1 scheduled to be the worlds first commercial space station when it launches into low earth orbit in May 2026. Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator 1st Shift reporting to the Manager Manufacturing Operations to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-timenon-exempt position located in ourLong Beach location.

Shift:

  • 1st shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monitor and facilitate the movement of components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely progression through our Vast locations.
  • Coordinate the physical transfer of components across various stages including purchasing receiving inspection inventory and relevant work centers.
  • Coordinate outside processing of components and liaise with the purchasing team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support logistics operations by optimizing workflow staging as necessary.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of system data in collaboration with Supply Chain Engineering and Manufacturing teams to align with demands and schedules.
  • Generate and maintain reports highlighting requirements milestones and limitations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with schedulers and managers to fulfill action requirements.
  • Communicate effectively and escalate issues promptly across various platforms and to specific stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues such as part shortages purchase order delays and discrepancies in BOM to relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and the planning team on the release of runs.
  • Follow schedules through effective planning and shortage management coordination.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 2 years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP Oracle etc.).
  • 2 years of Smartsheet.
  • Highly detail oriented and self starter.
  • Forklift experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.

Pay Range:

  • Manufacturing Coordinator I: $18.00 - $25.00
  • Manufacturing Coordinator II: $21.00 - $30.00

Salary Range: California

$18 - $30 USD
