  • Salary: 34434 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • Hours:37 hours per week flexible working options available

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of Pension Officers providing guidance and support and ensuring the team achieve their targets. These include the calculation and payment of retirements including the creation and maintaining of payroll records deaths and transfers.

Youll be required to identify and resolve training requirements in your team and look to identify and implement process improvements where required. You will need to refer to policies and relevant pensions legislation and be able to apply these to your work.

You will also be required to complete projects and statutory work working closely with other members of the Pensions Management team to achieve these. The role requires you to represent the team in various meetings as well as occasionally preparing and delivering presentations.

This role will report directly to the Pensions Operations Manager.

You will need

  • a high degree of accuracy when working under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines
  • excellent organisational skills
  • a high level of literacy and numeracy skills
  • proven ability to interpret understand and communicate complicated information.

The Pensions Team at Suffolk County Council is part of the Finance service dedicated to delivering a proactive and efficient pensions administration service to customers employers and their employees. The team is committed to accuracy timeliness and compliance with relevant legislation working collaboratively to support each other and provide expert guidance on complex pension queries.
