Required Education:High School Diploma or GED

Duties:
- Provides chair side dental assistance prepares and sterilizes equipment.
- Document patient care.
- Takes and develops dental radiographs (x-rays).
- May provide administrative assistance.
- Assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures to include but not limited to placement of bases and liners and placement and removal of rubber dams insertion finishing and removal of temporary restorations.
- Prepares set-up trays for anesthetic operative prosthetic periodontal prophylactic endodontic and orthodontic dentistry.
- Prepares dental equipment and materials for treatment.
- Performs patient charting as instructed by the dentist.
- Follows infection control protocol and prepares and sterilizes instruments and equipment.
- Greets patient and gets them situated in the treatment room.
- Provides patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
- Takes impressions of patients teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
- May perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
- Schedules appointments answers phones data entry and orders supplies.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
