Staff Associate (Part-Time)

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a part time Staff Associate at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward CA. Our staff associate team assume the crucial role of ensuring seamless operations throughout every stage of the delicate client family life cycle specifically focusing on the execution of a loved ones funeral services. We serve as the cornerstone of our client family support structure acting as the glue that holds everything together. We are problem solvers and peace-of-mind-providers - we uphold our commitment to care in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Service Support:

• Lead funeral services from beginning to end including delivering opening and closing speeches or dialogue with professionalism and compassion.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of funeral services visitations and memorials.
• Escort families and guests during services providing guidance and emotional support.
• Transport decedents with care and professionalism.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of chapels viewing rooms and vehicles.
• Ensure that families leave with all service material including print material photos flower cards etc.

Administrative Duties:

• Greet visitors with empathy and professionalism.
• Coordinate with vendors (e.g. florists cemeteries) as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical standards.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure all areas of the funeral home are clean organized and presentable.
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining supplies and inventory.
• Perform light maintenance and report any facility issues promptly.
• Assist with fleet maintenance including ensuring vehicles are fueled at all times washed and vacuumed regularly to maintain a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in customer service preferred
• Experience handling difficult situations
• Experience with public speaking and directing large crowds
• Funeral professional experience preferred

Compensation

• $19.00/hr.
