Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer Paris France
Start Date: September 2025
Duration: 6 months (renewable potential for long-term project)
Rates: Candidates will work of a daily rate
We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer to support a major international project in Paris. This is a senior discipline leadership role responsible for overseeing electrical engineering activities managing project deliverables and ensuring coordination across all disciplines.
This is a freelance daily-rate contract (8 hours/day). Candidates do not need to be based in France but must be available to mobilise quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Lead Electrical Engineer for the project reporting to the Project Manager.
- Prepare all required documentation and deliverables in line with project scope.
- Supervise and organize the work of other electrical engineers.
- Plan track and report on project progress.
- Organize and lead meetings with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless coordination with other engineering disciplines.
Deliverables & Scope of Work
- Electrical design basis and philosophies (Black start Control Earthing etc.).
- Specifications datasheets and requisitions for:
- Generators transformers HV & LV switchgears motors VSDs UPS (AC/DC).
- HV & LV power/control cables and electrical control systems.
- Consumer list power balance and equipment sizing calculations.
- Electrical system studies (Load Flow Short Circuit Motor Starting) using ETAP.
- Single Line Diagrams protection diagrams and cable routing/earthing layouts.
- Electrical building/substation designs cable lists and I/O lists.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 10 years as a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer on large-scale projects (Oil & Gas or similar industries).
- Language: Fluent English (written & verbal). French language skills are an advantage.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of international standards (IEC NFC15-100 NFC13-200) ATEX & IECEx compliance.
- Software: Skilled in ETAP Power System Analysis (essential).Type: Freelance consultant (own company preferred).
