Job Summary

Maintenance - HVAC Technician

Full-time position 40 hours/week
Beginning hourly rate: $23.06 subject to education/experience
Non-exempt

Summary:Helps maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain all safety and code requirements of the State local and BOE guidelines
Repairs and maintains all types of air conditioning and refrigeration units
Repairs and maintains VRV equipment (cassettes condensers branch selector etc.)
Experience working with Building Automation Systems
Repairs and maintains gas hot water steam and oil boilers and hot air furnace Rebuilds and Repacks burned out boiler fireboxes
Repairs and maintains air handlers ventilators cooling and radiators along with other mechanical heating and ventilating equipment
Monitors and coordinates control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperature
Performs regular preventive maintenance and boiler water treatment for all heating and air-conditioning equipment
Installs and tests new equipment
May be required to be on 24-hour call
Accurately order and accounts for material and labor relations assignments
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

HVAC Skills Refrigeration Pipe Fitting Electrical
Commercial HVAC maintenance experience with the following
- Boilers/Chiller/Cooling towers 2 & 4 pipe system
- Air Conditioning
- VAV Systems
- Domestic Hot Water Boilers
- Circulating Pumps
HVAC/R Associate Degree And Universal E.P.A. Cert for Refrigerants required
Experienced on Building Management Web Control Computer System
