Job Summary

The SO Fleet Assistant NBE is responsible for inspecting vehicles daily checking fluid levels performing preventive maintenance and washing and fueling vehicles. Drives vehicles to and from various locations and picking up automotive parts.

This position is non-benefit eligible and must work no more than 130 hours per calendar month.

Description:

Starting Salary: $17.50/hour

Top Salary: $25.57/hour

Checks fluid levels in vehicles on a daily basis including oil automatic transmission coolant brake fluid etc. replacing as needed. Refuels vehicles using department gas pumps. Inspects vehicles on a daily basis determining if maintenance is required including listening to engine and visually checking tires hoses belts exhaust etc.
Maintains the appearance of vehicles including washing vehicle exteriors and under hoods using pressure washer or manual methods; vacuums vehicle interiors removes trash applies stain repellent to upholstery; and polishes windows.
Drives vehicles to and from designated locations such as to garage for maintenance or to pick up automotive parts from parts suppliers as necessary.
May perform grounds and custodial duties including shoveling snow picking up trash emptying trash containers sweeping and cleaning parking lots and garage floors cleaning windows and restrooms.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
