The Mimecast Cloud Networking team delivers a reliable and performant network built on top of a hybrid-cloud technology stack to ensure Mimecasts services remain available and able to serve Mimecast customers at scale.

The Cloud Networking team at Mimecast are looking for a talented Senior Cloud Network Engineer with experience automating and operating networks in hybrid-cloud environments. Wed like to hear from you if youre someone whos an expert at Networking and IaC with an automation-first mindset and knows what it takes to build and operate a resilient secure and highly automated network architecture. You should be proficient at scripting and IaC such as Ansible Python scripting and Terraform and proficient working in a Linux environment. As someone who lives and breathes cloud networking you will possess a passion for staying abreast of the latest emerging technologies in cloud networking and automation.

What Youll Do:

• Build configure and administer network devices services and components ensuring optimal performance security and availability using Network as Code philosophies.
• Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues encompassing distributed networks providing swift restoration to operational status and minimizing down-time.
• Deploy network changes and maintain tools automation and Infrastructure as Code to manage and monitor the network.
• Provide an outstanding support experience for our internal Engineering teams by working with Product and Engineering teams to support program delivery.
• Identify improvements to runbooks monitoring and documentation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to alerts.

What Youll Bring:

• A good level of experience in a relevant technical role with excellent proficiency maintaining and troubleshooting distributed networks in a Hybrid Cloud environment.
• To have worked in a large environment understanding why IaC and Network as Code are critical to success
• Hands-on experience deploying & maintaining network infrastructure in both datacentres and AWS
• An in-depth understanding of networking principals and protocols.
• A proactive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges and deliver results.
• Be naturally creative and resourceful with an outstanding attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with an ability to connect with others to problem-solve explain resolution etc.

Candidates with skillsets in the following are preferred:

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications e.g. JNCIS-DC CCNP/CCDP AWS Advanced Networking is a plus.
• Infrastructure as Code or Network as Code practices
• Juniper routing and switching
• Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewalls
• Ansible
• Python
• CI/CD tooling ( Git / Puppet / Jenkins / Terraform )
• Kubernetes

The UK base salary range for this position is base benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for bonus incentive plans and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
