WA Custom Glass is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join its team as an Apprentice Glazier. This full-time opportunity offers structured training hands-on experience and a pathway to a nationally recognised qualification in the glazing industry.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Apprentice Glazier will be involved in a variety of tasks across factory operations logistics and on-site installations. Training will be delivered progressively over the course of the apprenticeship with clear expectations and milestones for each year.
GENERAL DUTIES
Factory Fabrication
- Cutting glass and aluminium
- Assisting with limited manufacturing processes
- Conducting quality assurance checks on incoming products
- Maintaining factory cleanliness and equipment
On-Site Learning
- Supporting installations of pet doors shower screens windows and doors
- Learning glazing techniques under supervision
- Transitioning to independent work by the third year
Logistics
- Delivering and collecting frames products and job site materials
- Managing check-in/out of job-related items
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRESSION
Year 1
- Develop proficiency in factory cutting and manufacturing
- Manage daily materials check-in/out
- Perform basic computer tasks including email and scheduling
- Maintain factory and driveway cleanliness
- Begin basic on-site training
- Demonstrate time management and task ownership
- Complete first year of TAFE
Year 2
- Continue Year 1 duties
- Advance on-site installation skills
- Assist with office tasks including phones orders and customer enquiries
- Complete second year of TAFE
Year 3
- Work independently across key areas
- Apply and demonstrate comprehensive on-site knowledge
- Contribute to broader business operations
- Complete third year of TAFE
CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- Genuine interest in the glazing industry
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Current drivers licence (preferred)
