Churchill Special Free School is an outstanding specialist provision for pupils aged 8-18 with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and or specific communication and language difficulties. We are looking for a confident and skilled Speech and Language Therapist with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in a School which is committed to enhancing language and communication skills throughout the curriculum. You will ideally have some experience working with children with a diagnosis of autism preferably in an educational setting.

You will:

  • assess communication and language abilities of pupils on your caseload and offer advice and recommendations to staff and parents
  • work collaboratively with teachers to plan deliver and evaluate language and communication activities across a number of curriculum areas
  • be involved in training staff in aspects of language and communication development
  • work collaboratively with the Speech and Language Therapist and Speech and Language Therapy Apprentice or Assistant
  • we can offer professional supervision a highly supportive team of teachers and classroom assistants an environment that values language and communication skills training and development opportunities and the expertise of our in-house Speech and Language team.
