The Inbound Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and documentation of all international and domestic and Inbound shipments.
- Collaborate with all necessary internal teams and external partners to ensure deliveries are in alignment with the new store and concessions opening schedule within North America.
- Track deliveries of freight and small parcel for concessions start-ups
- Approve vendor bookings and compile data for imported shipments
- Support with data pullingcreation for divisions within the business
- Liaise with carriers schedule pickups monitor shipments to completion
- Determine carrier/method of shipment based upon freight characteristics cost transit time and project requirements and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Solicit potential carriers outside our network when necessary for special services
- Prepare export documentation coordinate the transportation for and track all weekly export small parcel and LTL shipments
- Maintain export logs regarding shipment details
- Coordinate any domestic FTL moves necessary between vendors and carrier(s)
- Resolve any custom/cross-border issues should they arise
- Maintain Hazardous Material Certification and stay current on any regulatory changes to ensure Claires shipping practices are always in compliance with U.S. regulations.
- Track monitor and communicate any returns and their projected arrival to the DC.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned
- Initiate adhoc RFQs for special shipment moves
- Maintain a strong and positive relationship with transportation providers.
- Maintain distribution status of stores in AS400
- Question any repetitive challenges that may arise and make suggestions for resolution and improvements
- Act as a gatekeeper regarding cost of shipment services utilized by all departments to control cost
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience with International Import transportation
- Working knowledge of Import regulations carrier operations and modes of transportation
- Minimum of 3 years transportation experience (small parcel freight international and domestic)
- Ability to gain cooperation from others and work autonomously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Compensation Range: $52000.00 - $71760.00
