Scope and General Purpose:

TheCatering Sales Manager is responsible for generating soliciting and closing local catering opportunities building strong client relationships and ensuring successful event execution by coordinating with internal departments. This position targets the social and wedding markets for Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort. Key duties include identifying new business responding to leads developing creative proposals understanding pricing budgets and goals upholding brand standards and demonstrating excellent customer service and relationship development skills. This position acts as the primary liaison between the client and the property operating departments by ensuring accurate information is explained and then followed up upon by the Catering Convention Services Manager (CCSM). Via the CCSM this is a collaboration between the contract and departments to ensure seamless event execution.

Responsibilities:

• Sales and revenue generation: proactively solicits responds to and closes catering sales business focusing on the social and wedding markets to grow and meet revenue assigned goals.
• Cultivates and maintains strong value-based relationships with existing and new clients to foster long term loyalties and repeat business based on courtesy and respect.
• Oversees the details of catering functions including accurate and detailed proposals contracts and internal communication of contract contents. Works closely with the Catering Convention Services Manager to ensure a clear understanding of detailed agreements. Provides immediate support in the event questions arise.
• Manages pricing and negotiated offers by understanding budgeted revenue goals to maximize revenue. ensuring that any negotiated items are clearly stated in the contract and its turnover documents to the Catering Convention Services Manager.
• Executes and supports brand standards as developed and a clear understanding of what the property can and cannot accommodate ensuring a high-quality experience and value/price/reward relationship with every client.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and internal coordination and presentations.
• Proven ability to acquire and close business negotiate win/win contracts and apply creative selling techniques.
• A complete working knowledge of all meeting and event space offerings throughout the resort and their capacities. This is in conjunction with the ability to create accurately and professionally orchestrated site inspection and tours of the resort offering clear and well thought out solutions to meet guest desires and requests
• Strong understanding of market trends selling techniques competitors and the local customer base to identify new opportunities and adaptive strategies.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts maintain customer data and ensure timely and accurate turnover of business details to the Catering Convention Services Manager for distribution to operating departments.
• This position requires relative experience and a proven track record in hotel/or restaurant management with an extreme focus on customer service and interdepartmental relationships.
