Job Summary

Our Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team in Malta. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial records ensuring compliance with local regulations and supporting business growth through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow reports.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and process invoices payments and receipts ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory filings in compliance with Maltese tax laws.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management to prepare budgets and financial forecasts providing insights into financial performance.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends variances and opportunities for cost savings.
Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: A degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Maltese accounting principles and tax regulations.
Language Skills: Fluency in English; knowledge of Maltese is an advantage.
Personal Attributes: Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
