The Department of Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a 60% research and 40% teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position carries the expectations of excellence in research and teaching commensurate with the land grant mission of Oklahoma State University.
Position description
This is an 11-month tenure-track faculty position in agricultural finance in the Agricultural Economics Department (60% research 40% teaching). The individual will conduct research on the economic viability and financial management of agricultural enterprises including farm credit risk management and investment strategies. They will analyze the impact of agricultural policies commodity markets and land values on farm profitability and rural economies. Additionally their work may involve developing financial tools and models to support decision-making for farmers agribusinesses and policymakers.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in agricultural economics economics finance or closely related discipline. The successful candidate must be well trained in economic theory and quantitative techniques and have an ability to work with departmental and interdisciplinary university faculty groups financial institutions agribusinesses and governmental agencies. Effective communication skills both
written and oral are essential.
Salary and starting date
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will be filled by January 1 2026 or as soon thereafter as the successful candidate is available. Contingent upon available funding.

The Department of Agricultural Economics has over 600 undergraduate students 50 M.S. and Ph.D. students and 25 faculty. The department prides itself on excellence in all three areas of the Land Grant mission through research teaching and extension.
