- Minimum of four years of experience in a civil engineering environment
- Technical knowledge of transportation water and wastewater infrastructure municipal construction methods engineering principles project management asset management and financial matters related to capital infrastructure projects
- Experience leading and directing staff as demonstrated through strong interpersonal and team building skills
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and experience with all aspects of budget preparation and administration of capital projects
- Knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standards OHSA HTA Municipal Act and Ministry of the Environment regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong abilities in problem-solving and negotiation
- Computer literacy and experience in a computerized environment using word processing spreadsheets database software and use of GIS mapping.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills that are resolution oriented
- Valid drivers license and provision of own vehicle

Duties:- Lead Municipal Class Environmental Assessments and other studies for the planning of various water wastewater stormwater and road infrastructure.
- Lead the design of water/wastewater servicing stormwater and road reconstruction projects using both in-house and external resources as well as occasional upgrades to other County infrastructure and facilities.
- Prepare contract documents and specifications for tendering purposes.
- Provide project management and coordination of staff internal resources outside contractors and consultants.
- Ensure effective project management through all phases of various municipal projects (studies conceptual and detailed designs construction).
- Assist with obtaining approvals from regulatory agencies including the Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks Ministry of Natural Resources Ministry of Transportation Conservation Authorities Railway Authorities etc.
- Assist with project budget preparation and management.
- Co-ordinates or participates in long range infrastructure and other planning studies
- Attend participate in and/or provide professional and technical advice to Council Committees other Departments Public Information Centres etc.
- Support capital work for County facilities.
- Review development planning applications and provide comments with respect to the Countys Operations division.
- Assist department staff with asset management and planning
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations and Corporate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and provincial and/or federal regulations
- Other related assignments as directed
