Short Description
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
- Follows established policies and procedures.
- Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
- Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff management and physicians.
- Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.
Overview
Pavilion 8 an Intermediate surgical and medical surgical unit with 30 single rooms and the capacity to be a complete intermediate unit is genuinely committed to providing extraordinary patient care. Our surgical services include ENT Vascular Plastic Surgery Colorectal Surgery Surgical oncology and Urology. Our leadership structure comprised of a clinical director an assistant clinical director clinical nurse managers and a clinical educator is dedicated to supporting our staff and patient safety.
Pavilion 8 is supported by our unit secretaries critical care technicians and registered nurses seven days a week. We work towards having all of our nurses cross-trained in surgical intermediate within the first year at Cooper. Pavilion-8 fosters a close relationship with our providers as our APNs and Surgical Residents are easily accessible for support questions and directions with patient care. They have offices right here on the unit along with our leadership team and our transitional care team.
Education Requirements
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing.
License/Certification Requirements
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
- Current NJ-BLSCertification(Basic Life Support)
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS NALS PALS).
